United Tribes of Bristol Bay and Bristol Bay Native Corporation are hosting a joint Bristol Bay Youth Leadership Forum for students in grades 9-12! The BBYLF will be held in Anchorage at the Egan Center and Bristol Bay Native Corporation Building, Wednesday December 6-Friday December 8.

The leadership forum participants will include high school students from Southwest Region, Lake and Peninsula, Bristol Bay Borough, and Dillingham City school districts. We welcome all students to apply and will select students who demonstrate a willingness to learn and improve upon their leadership and communication skills.

This year’s Bristol Bay Youth Leadership Forum general topics will include cultural activities, indigenous knowledge and history, hands-on traditional arts (Yupik dancing, tattoos, crafts), motivational speakers, exposure to other regional leaders and issues, Alaska Native history and politics, current issues facing the Alaska Native community, and opportunities for dialogue on these important topics.

Students participating in this great opportunity will receive one college credit and gain important leadership skills to affect positive change in their communities. All travel expenses will be paid for students/chaperones if selected.
