  • Bristol Bay Communities (map)

The United Tribes of Bristol Bay is excited to announce our voter turnout contests for the 2022 general election, Nov. 8. (Early voting is open now!)

Get your community out to vote in the 2022 General Election (by mail, early/absentee or on election day) & help win money to support your community's school or cultural programs!

Prizes will be awarded to the Bristol Bay communities with the highest percentage turnout of eligible voters in the November election, and to Bristol Bay communities that have the biggest percentage increase in voter turnout compared to the 2018 general election!

See flyers for details, and feel free to followup with our office with any questions at admin@utbb.org or (907) 842-1687.

Additional Details:

  • This contest does not endorse and is not affiliated with any candidate(s) and is strictly a contest to encourage higher voter turnout in Bristol Bay communities.

  • Here are examples of how winners are determined in each category:

    • For "highest turnout,” the community's voter turnout is determined by the number of voters who turned out to vote in the election out of the communities total number of eligible voters. For example if "Community A" has 100 eligible voters and 75 of them vote in the election, "Community A" has 75% voter turnout and if 75% is highest in comparison to other BB communities turnout, "Community A" would win 1st prize.

    • For the "most improved turnout" category, if "Community B" voter turnout percentage was 40% in the 2018 election but in the upcoming 2022 election "Community B" increased voter turnout to 90%, "Community B" would have an increase of 50% in voter turnout. If the amount of "Community B’s” voter turnout percentage increase is the highest in comparison to other communities, "Community B" would win 1st prize.

  • Only Bristol Bay community schools or community cultural programs are eligible prize recipients. Prize money will be awarded directly to the community's school to support student programs and/or in the event a community does not have an open school, the money will be given to the Tribe to support community cultural programs. This contest does not in any way benefit individual voters for voting.

  • Any forms of voting in the 2022 General election count towards community voter turnout: early/absentee voting, voting by mail, and/or voting on Election Day on November 8, 2022.

  • Winners will be announced publicly in late 2022.
