Promoting sustainable economic development initiatives that honor our traditional Native values and ways of life is one of our four strategic focus areas. This includes advocating for sustainable economic growth and development, and collaboration and advocacy for regional commitments to self-sustaining local economies.
REMOTE WORK PROGRAM
Remote work is crucial for sustaining jobs in Bristol Bay. Historically, organizations and businesses have centralized computer-based roles in hub communities, which limits the talent pool, reduces engagement with outlying areas, and increases infrastructure costs. Bristol Bay has a wealth of potential remote workers. UTBB’s remote work program is building a workforce of highly skilled individuals who can work from their communities, positioning them for future full-time employment opportunities.
BRISTOL BAY SUSTAINABILITY SUMMIT
We co-host sustainability summits with other Bristol Bay organizations, bringing together Bristol Bay residents to further strategies and action plans for a sustainable future.
The summits are organized around the results of the Bristol Bay Regional Vision Project, a comprehensive project outlining a sustainable future that honors our traditional ways of life and way of life.
